Crossword Puzzle Library

Open any puzzle page and press Print Puzzle. The printed sheet includes the blank grid and both clue lists, sized to fit standard paper. Use Print Answer Key when you want the solved grid and the filled-in answers on their own page.

Before printing, choose your paper size — letter for the US and Canada, A4 elsewhere — and one of three clue sizes. Larger clues are easier for young solvers and large-print needs; smaller ones leave more room in the margins for working. To save a PDF instead of printing on paper, pick “Save as PDF” as the destination in the print dialog.

Crosswords earn their place in a lesson plan: they sneak in spelling, vocabulary, and content review while feeling like a break. The themed collections on this page line up with common elementary units — animals and habitats, food groups, landforms and map skills, holidays, and sports.

Print one for each student, or laminate a class set for reusable centers with wet-erase markers. Answer keys print separately so quizzes stay fair.
